ROAD SAFETY around schools

Hello from Community Place

If you are a keen gardener or would like to start you can apply to Adopt a Spot in the garden. The plot you are given is for you to plant and harvest, you become the carer for that piece of earth. There are a couple of spots left so come and see me (Annie) in the Community Place.
What is Community Place?
Well, it is many things..........
- We have a parent library
- We have a small Op Shop that opens on a Wednesday where you can fill a bag for free
- We have Playgroup every Friday morning
- We have the Smith Family Learning Club every Wednesday afternoon
- We have outside organisations that set up at different times delivering information sessions or conducting interview sessions and appointments. Some of these organisations are The Smith Family, Mission Australia, Wuchopperen and Services Australia
- Help with Birth Certificates
Please keep an eye on the Information Board out the front for up-to-date information.
We manage the lost and found items of students. These are kept for a period of time before being transferred into the OP Shop
Pop in for a hello anytime………Annie - Community Liaison

CWSS school band
Our School Band conductor and teacher Mr Kelly Perger presented the band at parade in week 9 Term 3.
The students have been working very hard together to achieve an amazing sound. The students attend one lesson a week on their preferred instrument. Being in a band is a very high achievement for our students. We would like to congratulate them for their outstanding performance. We look forward to your next performance.

RATEP - Courses available in 2026
Community-based Teacher Education.
RATEP is a community-based primary education and early childhood education program. It provides a direct pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to become registered teachers, qualified teacher aides or early childhood educators.
RATEP is an initiative which respects the culture and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and values the contribution they can make to the education of all young Australians. See more information below.

Preparing for Prep 2026
Our Prep teachers have been working closely with our local Early Childhood Centres to help prepare kindy students for Prep in 2026. As part of this transition program, CWSS staff visited the centres, and the kindy students were invited to our school to participate in a Prep lesson. During their visit, they had the chance to ask questions about what Prep is like, with our current Prep students proudly sharing their experiences. We’re excited to welcome our future 2026 Prep students to CWSS next year!
How much fun are we having!!
